Gracie-Certified Therapy Dog

Gracie- Certified Therapy Dog

My name is Gracie and I am an Australian Labradoodle, born at Meadow Park Labradoodles & Labradors near Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 21, 2018. I work here as a certified therapy dog. I have obtained my American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen title and am certified through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.

As a newborn, I started getting exposed to noises (sirens, thunder, whistles, etc.), so I would not be afraid when I got older. When I was 10 weeks old, I got a full evaluation of 20 behavioral characteristics. I passed the test, so I could become a certified therapy dog! Two weeks later, I went to live with my trainer from Ultimate Canine Dog Trainers in Indiana and lived with her for 3 months. Then, the week after Thanksgiving in 2018, my trainer and I came to Jackson and trained with my mom, dad, Mr. Charles, and our house sitter, Mrs. Susan, for 3 days. I already knew 30 commands, was house trained and had visited with more than 200 people, including children’s hospitals, assisted livings, and nursing homes.

I am hypo-allergenic and do not shed, so I am perfect working at our funeral home! I help to bring a smile and comfort to our families and visitors of any age when they are scared or sad when coming here. I can visit with families when they come to plan arrangements, during the visitation, and the funeral. Many new friends even stop by during the week to see me and bring me a treat!

Balls, green beans, and my mom’s flip flops are a few of my favorite things! I LOVE going to school and playing with my friends 2 days a week at Wagging Tail Pet Resort. And you might see me with my head out the window when I ride in the car.

I even have a coloring book I like to give out to little visitors I see when I am working. Please follow my adventures on my Facebook page “Gracie Arrington the Therapy Dog!”
