Zilla Marie Eaves White

Funeral Services for Zilla Marie Eaves White, age 86, will be Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Browns United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Steven Douglas and Reverend Harold Montgomery. Burial will be at Ridgecrest Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
Mrs. White died Sunday afternoon at her home. She was born in the Harris Grove Community, the daughter of the late Thomas Aubrey Eaves and Novella Priddy Eaves. She received her education at Fairview and Oakfield Elementary Schools, North Side High School, and West Tennessee Business College.
Mrs. White worked in her career as a legal secretary and was also involved in service to her family and the community in many ways. She was a long time member of Browns United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She served her church as a Sunday School Teacher and choir member. She was active in PTA, Scouting, and Vacation Bible Schools. Those who knew her best recognized her skills as a teacher and guider of children, and her joy in being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by sisters Dorothy Louise Ross and Mary Juanita Moore. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles Alexander White; her children Thomas Bedford White and wife Mary, Kathy Novella Travers, and Susan Charles Montgomery and husband Dan; and her sisters Betty Jean Payton, Margaret Ann DeLoach, and Peggy Lynn Coleman (Ronald). She is also survived by grandchildren Charles Thomas White and wife Christy, Elizabeth Bedford Kaufman and husband Jacob, Patrick Hamilton White and wife Leah, Robert Hunter Mullikin, Sarah Beth Greenbaum and husband Harry, Jonathan Charles Mullikin and wife Meagan, and Amanda Leigh Bell, and husband Jason. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; William Bedford White, Charles Alexander White, Macie Lane White, Claire Montgomery Kaufman, Caroline Eaves Kaufman, Mary Joan Kaufman, Elizabeth Laura Kaufman, Theo Hamilton White, Jonathan Russell White, Sophia Rayleigh Bell, Charlotte Marie Bell, Nathan Alexander Bell, Gilbert Russell Mullikin, Elliott Charles Mullikin, and Hunter Zane Mullikin.
Mrs. White’s Grandsons and Grandsons in law will serve as pallbearers for the service.
Friends may visit with the family at Arrington Funeral Directors on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
