Wilma Helen Morgan

September 28, 1928 — July 4, 2021

Wilma “Helen” Morgan passed from this life on July 4, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice of West Tennessee.

Helen was born on September 24, 1928, in Decatur County, TN the daughter of the late Blaine and Vernie Duke Campbell. She spent some time in Lake County, TN before moving to Jackson, TN, where she met the love of her life. She married Roy Brown Morgan in Corinth, MS on March 14, 1948, in a union that lasted sixty-two years until Roy passed away October 24, 2010. Helen was an early member of Forest Heights United Methodist Church where she volunteered for many years as a nursery worker and always maintained her membership there. She spent her early years taking care of the home and raising the children. In 1967 the family purchased Poplar Plaza Apartments and her job duties increased greatly. Tenants always said when you lived at the apartments you became part of her family. Helen was there to listen and help when needed.

She never drove, but with a good husband and many friends she always had a ride. She loved to share conversation and advice so in her later years, the telephone was her most important tool. The phone never left her side and if she had your number, you would be getting a call. She was so thankful for the many times her friends answered her calls.

Helen ended her journey on earth, just as her husband, at home in her room with family. She knew she had been blessed.

Helen is survived by her two children Mary Elizabeth Norville and husband Pete and Judge Roy B. Morgan, Jr., and wife Jackie all of Jackson, TN; two grandchildren, Tyler Roy Morgan and wife Amber of Auburn, AL and Bradley Morgan Norville and wife Abby of Jackson and two great grandchildren, Wynn Campbell Morgan and Ella Reese Norville.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held at Arrington Funeral Directors on Friday, July 9, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a graveside service at 1:00 PM at White Rose Cemetery in Gibson, TN with Rev. Dylan Wilson, officiating.

Pallbearers serving will be John Allen, Greg Alexander, Ronnie Patterson, Donald Richardson, Tyler Morgan and Bradley Norville.
