Vera Catherine Strickland

Vera Strickland, 89, died August 7, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born October 7, 1926 in Lexington, TN the daughter of the late George Azbill and Annie Lou Reed. She retired form Publix Shirt Factory of Huntingdon, TN in 1989 and was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.

Vera was a wonderful mother to daughters Dina Harris and husband Tim of Jackson, TN, Donna Russell and husband Robbin of Chattanooga, TN, and sons, Dale Strickland and wife Paula of Cheyenne, WY, and David Strickland and wife Stephanie of Jackson, TN, seven grandchildren, Nathan and Aaron Strickland, Logan, Wesley, and Leah Russell, and Hannah and Rachel Harris, and three great-grandchildren, Spencer, Aiden and Owen Strickland.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Esme Strickland and daughter Martha. Those serving as pallbearers will be Robbin Russell, Tim Harris, Tom Camper, Aaron Strickland, Nathan Strickland and Ollie Crenshaw.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Dr. Philip Jett officiating. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 11:00AM until service time 1:00PM.
