Graveside services for Vena Mai Turner Rushing, 91, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. John H. Rushing officiating. Mrs. Rushing died on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Maplewood Healthcare Center in Jackson, TN. Arrington Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.Mrs. Rushing was born in Crockett County, TN on June 9, 1919 the daughter of the late John Watkins and Bessie Pearson Turner. She was a 1936 graduate of Bells High School and was married to Roy Brown Rushing, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Rushing was a homemaker that loved to cook and was known for her pies and cakes. She was a member of Poplar Heights Baptist Church, where she was active in the Grace Sunday school class for many years.She is survived by two sons, Roy Hugh Rushing and his companion Karen Winberry of Jackson, TN and Rev. John H. Rushing and wife Karen of Columbia, TN; seven grandchildren, Kim Hart and husband Jeff, Hugh Rushing and wife Gina, Will Rushing and wife April, Sheri Cutulle and husband Brian, Chris Rushing and wife Jennifer, Jana Smith and husband Vern and Amanda Grindol and thirteen great grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Hugh Rushing, River Rushing, Will Rushing, Chris Rushing, Joseph Rushing, Vern Smith and Brian Cutulle.The family will be receiving friends on Monday, August, 23, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
