Graveside services for Vasco Camp, Jr., 92, will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00AM at Hollywood Cemetery. Mr. Camp died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Jackson ?Madison County General Hospital.He was born March 6, 1918 in Jackson, TN, the son of the late Vasco Camp, Sr., and Rachel Toy Camp. He served in the Navy, was secretary of the Moose Lodge, Member of American Legion Post 90 and Post 12. He enjoyed golf at Woodland Hills Golf and Country Club. He played independent baseball for Brashers, he also played softball, and he coached Little League Baseball from 1952 until 1959. Mr. Camp worked for Buddy and Weis, City Lumber Company, GM&O and ICG Railroad for 40 years. He retired at age 63. His past time enjoyment was dancing, golf and the Atlanta Braves. He is survived by his wife, of 73 years, Emily Woodward Camp of Jackson, TN, two sons, Jerry Camp and wife Helen of Greenville, TX, Jack Camp and wife Sandra of Jackson, TN, one sister, Mable Temple of Lakeland, FL, and seven grandchildren, Christy Camp Sallee, Jack F. Camp, Jr., Phillip Wade Camp, James Franklin Camp, Marie Camp Derrickson, Jerry S. Camp, Jr., and Emily Camp Fletes.Mr. Camp was preceded in death by his brother A B Camp.The family has requested memorial donations be directed to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 14, 2011 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
