Teresa Kay Pride Long

April 8, 1957 — March 28, 2021

Teresa Kay Pride Long went to be with her Lord on March 28. She passed peacefully into her heavenly home from her earthly home with her husband and daughters by her side. Teresa was born in Dyersburg on April 8, 1957. Her family moved to Jackson before she started Parkview elementary school. She graduated from Jackson Central Merry High in 1975. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvie and Ophelia Pride, her sister Doris Roy and brother Brian. She is survived by her husband Mike of 39 years and daughters Rebecca Long of Jackson, Melissa Allen and husband Boone of Medina and Sarah Gaskins and husband Jonathan of McKenzie. She leaves six grandchildren, Lane Allen (Dakota) Aubrey Buckley, McKenzie Buckley, Macie Jane Allen, Reed and Levi Gaskins. Her sister Dale Sanford of Jackson, Patrick, and Michael Pride (Susan) of Jackson and Sandy Goodwin (Bill) of Holiday.

Teresa began working in the family business, the Bible Book Store after she and Mike married. Mike Joined her in the business in 1984 and they continued there where she became co-owner and manager with Mike before they closed in 2011. She then began a career as a phlebotomist in the Emergency Room of Jackson Madison County General Hospital where she loved ministering to hurting people until her stroke in January of 2020.

Teresa was involved for several years with Girl Scouts in Henderson County and youth director at Lexington Christian Church. She devoted much of her life to working with young people. She enjoyed traveling with her family and she and Mike had visited over 34 states and more than 20 of our National Parks.

She was an active member of the Skyline Church of Christ and loved sharing her love for her Lord with others.

SERVICES: Visitation will be at Arrington Funeral Directors on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be at Ridgecrest Cemetery Saturday Morning at 10:00 a.m., with Ricky Long officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to BrightStone.org “Land of Dreams” in Franklin, TN, 140 SE Parkway Court, Franklin, TN 37064.
