Sidney Lawrence Porrier, Jr.Funeral services for Sidney Lawrence Porrier, Jr, 79, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Reverend Stacy Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Mr. Porrier died on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Regional Hospital of Jackson.A native of Baton Rouge, LA, he was born on November 15, 1930, the son of the late Sidney L and Elizabeth Furnish Porrier, Sr. Mr. Porrier was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Alco Gravure of Memphis, TN as a Lithographer. He was a member of the Enville Baptist Church in Enville, TN. Mr. Porrier?s family and his relationship with his savior were the two most important aspects of his life. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.He is survived by his wife Hilda Mae Osborne Porrier of Saltillo, TN; three daughters, Bobbi Millner of Adamsville, TN, Pat Sutton and husband Jim of Lexington Park, MD and Brenda Jones and husband Steve of Hernando, MS; two sons, David Porrier of Saltillo, TN and Sidney Lewis Porrier of Tucson, AZ; a sister, Jerri Lee Pariseau of Phoenix, AZ and a brother, Little Junior Adams of Louisiana and ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Jo Taylor; a brother, Peter R. Porrier and a grandchild, John J. Strauser.Pallbearers to serve will be Scott Davis, Steve Jones, James Stout, Jim Sutton, Jerry Webb and Jimmy Webb.Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Jerry Osborne, Robert L. Osborne III and Sidney Osborne.The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
