William Ruben MealerFuneral services for Ruben Mealer, 93, will be held 12:00 P.M. Friday, January 28, 2011 at Arrington Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Mr. Mealer died January 24, 2011 at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital after a brief illness.He was born August 28, 1917 to Willie James Mealer and Lula Southern Mealer in Perry County near Brush Creek where he grew up. He worked as a carpenter with Floyd Mount Home Builders and then as a sheet metal worker with Piggly Wiggly for over 30 years. He attended Old Hickory Church of Christ as long as he was able. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Evon Pace Mealer; an infant son, his parents, a brother and six sisters.Ruben is survived by a son, William Ricky Mealer (Kathy) of Jackson, TN; daughters Linda Faye Brundige (Woody) of S. Fulton, TN; Fairlyon Elaine Hill (Jim) of Denton, TX; Addie Lynn Schlup (Jeff) of Rogers, AR; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Mealer, David Brundige, Amanda Bruff, Benjamin Hill, Heather Warren, Richard Cleveland, Amy Hanson and seventeen great grandchildren.The family will receive friends Friday, January 28, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.Arrington Funeral Directors148 W.
