Ronnie G. Giddens Sr.

Funeral services for Ronnie G. Giddens, Sr., 71, will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Rev. Donald Lance, Rev. Larry Burkett and Rev. Ronald Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens with Fireman honors. Mr. Giddens died on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Ronnie was born in Bemis, TN on April 8, 1941, the son of the late Robert L. and Jeanetta Greer Giddens. He graduated from South Side High School in 1960 and served in the United States Army. He was later employed with the City of Jackson Fire Department for thirty years, retiring with the rank of Captain. He was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church since 1992, where he served as an usher. He was a loving husband to his wife and a loving father to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Sandra West Giddens of Jackson, TN; a son, Ronnie G. Giddens, Jr. and wife Tina of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Lori Burkett and husband Larry of Dyersburg, TN; two brothers, Jodie Giddens of Jackson and Travis Giddens and wife Jan of Littleton, CO and two grandchildren, Aly Giddens and Anna Katherine Giddens.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Alesha Giddens Hodge in 2004 and three brothers, Paul E. Giddens, Harold L. Giddens and Robert M. Giddens.
Members of the Jackson Fire Department will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the usher staff of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors and from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Lighthouse Church on Friday, September 7, 2012.
