Ralph Dallas Burkeen Jr

Funeral Services for Ralph “Dal” Burkeen, 65, will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, December 1, 2012 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. John Hatley officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 PM until the service on Satruday.
Mr. Burkeen died Wednesday November 28, 2012 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Dal was born June 4, 1947 in Jackson, TN the son of the late Ralph Burkeen, Sr and Zelma Long Burkeen. He was retired from International Paper Company after 40 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Scottish and York Rites and enjoyed a past time of genealogy.
Dal is survived by his wife Sherry Burkeen of Jackson, TN, three sons Ralph “Trae” Burkeen , Edward Burkeen, John “Andy” Burkeen and wife Danielle all of Jackson, TN, one sister Betty Clare Mullins and husband Rodney of Jackson, TN, two grandchildren, Ralph Dallas Burkeen IV and Aidan Vargason. He was preceded in death by a daughter Beth Ann.
Those serving as pallbearers will be his sons Trae Burkeen, Edward Burkeen, Andy Burkeen, Donnie Rhodes, Robin Smith, James Paul McClain, Rodney Mullins, David Gaines and Danny Branum.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to American Cancer Society, 2935 Highway 45 By-Pass, Jackson, TN 38305.
