Philip Meeson

A memorial service for Philip Edward Meeson, 92, will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2011 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Dr. Jerry Drace officiating. Mr. Meeson died on Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.A native of Fall River, MA he was born on August 22, 1919, the son of the late Frank Brown and Alma Olding Meeson. He was married to Nona Meeson who preceded him in 2003. Mr. Meeson was a retired Safety Engineer in the construction industry. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving under the command of Brigadier General Paul Tibbits, Jr. in the 509 Composite Group, who piloted the Enola Gay. He enjoyed horse racing and playing golf as his hobbies.He is survived by his son, Dana Meeson and wife Lisa of Humboldt, TN and two grandchildren, Melinda and Allison Meeson.Arrington Funeral Directors, 148 W.
