Funeral services for Paul T. Pope, 76, will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 5, 2011 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with David Powell, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Mr. Pope died on Wednesday, November 2, 2011.Paul was born in Elkton, TN on October 7, 1935, the son of the late Foster and Virgie Mae Massey Pope. He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving for twenty-two years affiliated with the U-2 program. He was very involved with his children serving as a multi sports coach and mentor for many years. He was employed as a sales representative with Bush-Hog of Selma, AL for twenty-eight years. He was a member of North Jackson Church of Christ, where he was a member of the Seniors Sunday school class.He is survived by his wife, Marie Potts Pope of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Natasha Pope Sherman and husband Stephen and their two daughters Stephanie Dawn Sherman and Sarah Marie Sherman of Prattville, AL; a son, Richard Pope and wife Judy Rhoden and their children Molly Pope Keller and Theron Lee Pope of Fredericksburg, VA; two brothers, Harold Pope of Tupelo, MS and Tracy Pope of Elkton, TN.He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Pope.Pallbearers to serve will be Andy Griggs, Chris Pope, Allen Verell, Ken Brodel, Jerry Yarbrough and Paul Anderson.The family is requesting memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.The family will be receiving friends on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.Arrington Funeral Directors, 148 W.
