Paul Anderson Garner Sr.

Memorial services for Paul Anderson Garner will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Ron Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery with Military Honors.
Mr. Garner went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, October 10, 2012 at the West Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt. He was 86 years old.
He was born on February 11, 1926, in Henderson County near Lexington. He was the youngest child of nine children born to the late W.W. Garner and Donie Cassie Sloan Garner. He attended Henderson County schools and as a teenage boy accepted Christ as his Savior. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WW II in the Pacific Theatre. Four brothers of his family served in the war at the same time and were blessed by all returning home. He was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church and was devoted to his Savior Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband to the former Evelyn Irene Bledsoe from the Edison Community in Gibson, Co., father and grandfather to his family. He had a love for people and never met a stranger. He had a tenderness toward people with special needs and served as Vice-President of the Jackson Council for the Retarded that founded The Happy Hollow School for Exceptional Children. He also was the director of the first Sunday School Class for Exceptional Children at West Jackson Baptist Church. He was a salesman by trade working for Colonial Bread Co. before retiring from Conwood Corporation as district sales manager in the Little Rock, AR territory.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Evelyn Irene Bledsoe of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Cassa Seabrook of Jackson, TN and a son, Andy Garner of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Dr. Amy Seabrook Wilson (Tendal) and Dr. Todd Seabrook (Katie). Mr. Garner was close to many nieces and nephew who survive him.
The family is requesting memorial donations be directed to West Jackson Baptist Church or to The Exceptional Children’s Department at West Jackson, 580 Oil Well Road, Jackson, TN 38305.
