Mike Kent Beeson

Mike Kent Beeson, 65, died on October 7, 2012 following a brief illness. He was in the VA State Home in Humboldt, TN at the time of his passing. At his request, no services will be held.
Mike was born on October 29, 1946 to Nina Ta (Mooney) and Olof W. Beeson in Inglewood, CA. He moved with his family to Modesto, CA at the age of 7. He attended Enslen Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High and Grace M. Davis High Schools. Mike was drafted into the Army in 1967 and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He married his next door neighbor Becki Dietzel in 1970 and in 1972 he was hired by Proctor and Gamble. In 1994 he was transferred to Jackson, TN where he continued to work for P&G until an illness forced him into early retirement in 1988.
Mike was an avid sports fan and continued to follow the SF 49ers, SF Giants and LA Lakers even after moving to TN. He also was a UT Vols, Lady Vols and Crockett County Cavaliers fan. He loved trout fishing and playing golf. He was a gospel music fan and enjoyed concerts as well as going to the Orpheum in Memphis and The Dixie in Huntingdon. He was also an animal lover, owning many cats and one very special dog, Susie, during his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife Becki of Jackson, TN and a son Kent (Amy) and 3 grandchildren (Laura, Mae, Dash and Brody) of Seattle, WA. He is also survive by one brother, Ted of Lawrence, KS; 3 sisters, Sandra (Rod) Douglas of Lancaster, CA, Dianne (Max) Sawtelle of Riverbank, CA and Janis (Paul) Smith of Westport, TN as well as many nieces and nephews and his adoring cat of 11 years, Davy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, Olof William Beeson of CA and his beloved grandfather, Olof Ellsworth Beeson.
Mike was a very caring, generous man with a one of a kind sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all of his loved ones, and by all the lives he touched, especially those who were fortunate enough to call him “friend”.
