Mary Maxine Cepparulo

July 21, 1944 — July 13, 2022

Mary M. Cepparulo entered her heavenly home on July 13, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 77.
She was born in Vandalia, IL on July 21, 1944, the daughter of the late Arthur and Erma Casey Atwood. Mary graduated from Union University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and retired from the Eye Clinic, PC in Jackson, TN. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and their “Card” ministry, as she would send birthday, sympathy, and other cards to the membership.
Mary had an unconditional love for her husband, son, and grandchildren. She was one of the founders of the baseball Boosters Club at Northside High School when her son Tommy played there and continued to support him through his college career at Jackson State Community College and Union University. Easily her favorite sports team outside of her family was the St. Louis Cardinals, much to her husband’s dismay. Her love for the Cardinals started at an early age and continued throughout the years. Mary was instrumental in establishing the local Multiple Sclerosis Society and received an award for the Multiple Sclerosis Society through the University of Memphis, as well as an Alumni award from Union University.
Mary is survived by her adoring husband of fifty-five years, Joe H. Cepparulo of Jackson, TN; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas “Tommy” Joseph Cepparulo and Lisa of Jackson, TN; her brothers, Jim Atwood and wife Charlotte of Browntown, IL and Eddie Atwood and his fiancé Jerri Davenport of Vandalia, IL; a sister, Michele Wilson and husband Doug of Bartlett, TN and four grandchildren, MaKayla, Hudson, Ella and Emersyn.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan O’Neal officiating.
