Marie Mitchell

October 26, 1927 — March 8, 2011

Marie James Mitchell, a life-long resident of the Bemis and south Madison County community, went to be with her Lord on March 8, 2011. Mrs. Mitchell was born October 26, 1927 to the late Charlie James and Evy Lena Jackson. She was a retired employee of the Bemis Brothers Bag Company, and member of the Bemis Pentecostal Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and sang in the church choir and special groups.She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert S. Mitchell, her son Bob (Sherry) Mitchell of Jackson, and daughters Janet (Neal) Smith of Jackson, and Judy (Lewis) Lyell of Portland, Tennessee; six grandchildren Mitchell Kendall, Nathaniel Kendall, Melissa Spence, Amy Bechtol, Shelley Carter, and Kevin Lyell; and eight great-grandchildren, Hilary and Whitney Kendall, Sarah and Rebecca Kendall, Hayden and Harrison Spence and Will and Anna Bechtol.Brothers and sisters: Bill, Bob, Willard and Jerry James, Bill and Ben Nerren, June Duello, Joyce Williams, Glenda Elvert.Funeral services will be Friday, March 11 at 12:00 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Luther and Rev Don Cartwright officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons in law: Mitchell Kendall, Nathaniel Kendall, Kevin Kendal, Andy Spence, Barry Carter and Nathaniel Bechtol. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM. A private family graveside service will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of West Tennessee, 1804 Hwy 45 By-Pass, Suit 100, Jackson, Tennessee 38305.Arrington Funeral Directors148 W.
