Laquita Joyce Baskin departed this life peacefully on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 62.
Laquita was born October 18, 1959, in Jackson, TN to the late Oscar and Betty Norwood Robertson. She graduated from North Side High School in 1978. She attended New Life Church in Jackson, TN. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, watching butterflies, and being with her family especially her grandchildren that she loved so much.
She is survived by her husband, James L. “Tre” Baskin, III; sons, Christopher Little (Amanda) and James L. Baskin, IV; daughters, Christina Brewer (Corey) and Olivia Hudson (Michael); brother, Charles Robertson (Pam); sisters, Dorinda Davis (Ronnie) and Janae Owen (Dan); and thirteen grandchildren, Brett, Mason, Antonio, Dylan, Kaden, Nathen, Kaylee, Aiden, Lireal, Carissa, Avery, Lilakaye, and Oliana.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 24, 2022, at 3:00PM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. Travis Grimsley officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM and on Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service.
