Funeral services for Kenneth Edwin Tate, 71, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 22, 2011 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Dr. Brent Lay officiating. A committal service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 23, 2011 at Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort, IL. Mr. Tate died peacefully at his daughter?s residence in Bartlett, TN on Thursday, May 19, 2011. He was born in Gaff, MO on March 26, 1940, the son of the late Oral and Alma Ballard Tate. He was married to Sharon Kay Tate who preceded him in death on July 16, 2009. He was a retired engineer with Kilgore Corp. He was a long time member of Englewood Baptist Church before moving his membership to Bartlett Baptist. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, teaching Sunday school and following the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.He is survived by a son, Andrew Tate and wife Jennifer of Machesney Park, IL; three daughters, Beth Courtright and husband Jim of Dickson, TN, Tracey Caldwell and husband Raymond of Bartlett and Kristen Caldwell and husband Dudley of Bartlett, TN; two brothers, Norman Tate of St. Louis, MO and Eldon Tate of Springfield, MO; a sister, Brenda Faulkner of St. Louis, MO and six grandchildren, Raymond Caldwell, Aleah Caldwell, Sara Courtright, Patrick Courtright, Jacob Caldwell and Justin Ingraham.The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
