Judith A. Murray

May 24, 1946 — May 23, 2020

Judith A. Murray, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 in Jackson after a long
battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  She was born on May 24, 1946, the daughter
of Robert and Francis Hamilton Powell, of Knoxville.  She was a retired Registered
Nurse from the Jackson Clinic, where she lovingly served her patients.  Judy
enjoyed participating in obedience training dog shows where she took home
several awards and made lifelong friendships.  She loved arts and crafts, making
ceramics and stained glass pieces, celebrating the seasons.  She also enjoyed
sailing with her husband, Truman.  She captained several Powder Puff Regattas,
finishing in the top three for several years and claimed a first-place victory.  Judy
was also a member of First United Methodist Church and Family Life Forum
Sunday School class in Jackson.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Truman Murray of Jackson, TN; three
sons, Scott (Rhonda) Murray of Jackson, TN; Douglas (Rachel) Murray of
Brentwood, TN; and Michael Murray of Washington, DC; two brothers, John
Powell of Abbeville, LA and Robert Powell of Gatlinburg, TN; and four
grandchildren Olivia, Emma, Colin, and Craig.

Services: With controlled social distancing restrictions, the family will be receiving
friends 11:00 - 1:00 on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Arrington Funeral Directors with
a funeral service following at 1:00 P.M. with Eddie Bromley officiating.  Burial will
follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
