John David Washburn

John David Washburn, 40 died on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a 6 ½ year battle with brain cancer.
David was born in Dyersburg, TN on October 14, 1972 the son of the Cecilia Weaver Washburn and the late Danny Ray Washburn. He was educated in the Jackson-Madison County Schools. He was employed as a truck driver and had also received his certification to work as a nursing assistant. He was a U.T. and Tennessee Titans Football fan and enjoyed watching them on T.V. as much as he could. He was a member of New Life Tabernacle.
He is survived by his mother, Cecilia W. Washburn of Jackson, TN his brothers, Kevin Washburn and wife Amy of Henderson, TN, Jason Washburn and wife Natasha of Jackson, TN, Daniel Washburn and wife Geri of Jackson, TN, Eric Washburn and Matthew Washburn both of Bartlett, TN, his step-mother, Vicky Washburn of Bartlett, TN; aunts, Karen McCarver and husband George of Mercer, TN, Sandra Weaver of Jackson, TN Ruth Weaver of Medina, TN, Ruthie Weaver of Enville, TN and Diane Rinks of Milan, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Lorene Weaver.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 16, 2013 at New Life Tabernacle with Rev. Glen Thompson and Rev. Travis Grimsley officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral Home.
