John Michael Varnick

John Michael Varnick,44, lost his brave battle with cancer on Sunday, February 28, 2016. John was born in Sheboygan, WI on April 5, 1971 and his family moved to Jackson, TN when he was a teenager.
John is survived by his wife of 22 years, Christie Carter Varnick; two sons, Nicholas Michael Varnick and Zachary Alexander Varnick; his father, Phillip Varnick of Jackson, TN; a sister, Michelle Lynn Varnick Lamson (Mark); two brothers, Paul Andrew Varnick (Delaina), Jason Robert Varnick (Natasha); Three nephews and four nieces. John was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Varnick in 2009.
John was an avid Boy Scout participant and leader with Troop 203 and through the years earned his Vigil Honor, Wood Badge beads and three Eagle Scout Mentor Pins. John was a member of the Warriors at Gold’s Gym for the last two years and had completed a Century Ride for the Kirkland Cancer Center, The John Varnick half-marathon, two triathlons, multiple 5K runs and the St. Jude half marathon in December 2015 while undergoing chemotherapy.
SERVICES: The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Services for John will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Jeremy Brown officiating. The family will receive guests following the funeral service Thursday at Northside United Methodist Church on North Highland in Jackson, TN.
