Joan Kay Chance, age 78, of Jackson, TN passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born October 25, 1943, in Lavinia, TN to the late James Nelson and Annie Mae Downing Barrow. She was married to Charles William Chance, who predeceased her in death in 2020. Joan retired as a teacher with the Jackson-Madison County school system. She was an active member at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, enjoying helping in Vacation Bible School, being Church Camp Counselor, and a Sunday School teacher. While attending college at Lambuth University, she was in the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Being a Veteran’s wife, she was part of the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 995 and was their administrator.
Survivors are her daughter, Sherry Chance Arnold and her husband, William Arnold, II and her loving grandson, Nathan Samuel Arnold.
