Jimmy Dale Hendrick

Jimmy Dale Hendrick, age 79, went to his forever home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born in Temple, TX, on January 5, 1942, the son of the late Ollie and Hilda Hagameister Hendrick. Jim is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin.
Jim is known to all as the perfect gentleman with a lively smile. He spread goodness everywhere he went. He was always the man behind the scenes, making sure everything and everyone were taken care of with no concern of acknowledgment or praise. Jim was an avid chef and grill master. He enjoyed working for Imperial Furnishing (Waco, TX) and traveling. He was a natural golfer, runner, and fisherman. Jim loved the Women of Hope ministry and served as the president of the executive board.

He is survived by his wife, Marcie Hodge Hendrick; two sons, James Hendrick (Laura) of New York and Ty Hendrick (Amanda) of Texas; two daughters, Susan Cushman (Chuck) of Montana, and Shelly Evans of Alabama; a sister, Sue Shade (Pat) of Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Peggy Jones, Joyce Young (David), and Kay Davis (Mike) all of Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Graham), Josh (Allysa), Zoe, Aubrey, Christian (Martin), Jarrett (Bailee), and Kade; ten great-grandchildren, Malachi, Scout, Oaklee, Haven, Eowyn, Estellise, Esther, Lily, Julian, and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, father and mother-in-law, Harold and Katherine Hodge and brothers-in-law, Victor Hodge and Doug Jones.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Hope Recovery Church, 1925 Highway 18, Medon, TN, with Lisa Clements reading the eulogy, Pastor Mike Davis leading prayer and scripture, and Rev. Nick Pappas officiating. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Jim’s nephews and nieces will serve as his honorary pallbearers.

The family is requesting that memorial contributions be made in honor of “Jim’s Trail of Hope Nature Walk” located on the campus of the Hope Recovery Center, 1925 Hwy. 18, Medon, TN 38356. Services will be live streamed on the Facebook page: Women of Hope - Hope Recovery Center.

Jim will be laid to rest at a memorial in his honor on the Trail of Hope at Hope Recovery Center.
