Jerry Lee Morgan

May 21, 1946 — November 3, 2021

Mr. Jerry Lee Morgan, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, departed from this life and entered his Heavenly home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in the comfort of his home and the love of his adoring family at the age of 75.

Born the son of the late Odis and Helen (Leslie) Morgan, on Monday, May 21, 1946, Jerry was one of eight children. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Morgan. He was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, MO, and that is where Jerry met the love of his life, Elaine Beck. Jerry and Elaine joined in marriage and completed their family with the addition of two daughters, Donna and Kimberly. He will always be cherished for the faithful, caring husband and father he was for his family.

Jerry obtained a license as an Insurance Agent, however, most of his adult career he was employed by Graham Snack Foods as a distributor. He loved his work and the opportunity it provided for him to meet new people and maintain lasting relationships. Jerry was a good- natured man with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved his family and friends completely. After retirement, Jerry found enjoyment in doing yard work and an occasional opportunity of sleeping later than normal, but his greatest pleasure was fishing with his buddies and very special friends, Tillman Weir, Larry Futrel and Don Hollin. Even though not a fisherman, he genuinely enjoyed spending time with his good friend, Rev. Charles Rutter.

A very passionate man with a great love for many things, Jerry was most faithful to the Lord. He spent many years as a board member and usher at Bemis Pentecostal Church. He most recently attended Lighthouse Church until his health prevented otherwise. Jerry took every opportunity to share the love of Jesus with others. He loved his brothers and sisters in Christ and enjoyed every moment spent with them.

He will be tremendously missed and never forgotten by his devoted wife of 56 years, Elaine Morgan; daughters, Donna Kay Morgan of Jackson, TN and Kimberly Diane Dumas and husband, John of Hendersonville, TN; brothers, Jimmy Morgan and wife Jean, Donnie Morgan and wife, Jill, and Allen Morgan and significant other, Karen Thatcher; sisters, Darlene Murgaw, Linda Robinson and husband, Steve, and Vicki Cox and husband, Bill; sister-in-law, Joanne Morgan; 2 special grandchildren; former sister-in-law, Sara Lee Morgan; cherished fishing buddies, Tillman Weir, Larry Futrel and Don Hollin; good friend, Rev. Charles Rutter, as well as many other family, friends and neighbors who will mourn his passing.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors with Pastor Donald Lance and Pastor David Hill officiating. Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
