Funeral services for Jerry W. Creasy, 70, will be held at 11:00 Friday, August 6, 2010 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Dr. Philip Jett, Dr. Paul Williams and Dr. Brent Lay officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Creasy died on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at his Jackson residence.Jerry was born on January 19, 1940, in Humboldt, TN the, son of the late Marion and Bessie Dodd Creasy and was educated in the local schools.After his completion of high school, Jerry served with the United States Air Force, spending most of his time as an Airman 1st Class at Eglin Air Force Base in Mary Ester, FL. After military service Mr. Creasy began a career in information analysis in Memphis, TN. He returned to Jackson in 1969 with Rockwell International. Mr. Creasy made the transition to the cable industry in 1975 to cable TV continuing his career until 1992 when he retired as General Manager of CableVision Industries. In his post retirement years Jerry worked week-ends with Murray Guard for ten years. In addition to his communications career, he also established several of his own businesses including, DataMite Inc, Tennessee Tackle and Tipp Topp Cleaner?s and Laundry Service.Mr. Creasy was a member of Englewood Baptist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher during the seventies. He greatly enjoyed coaching local youth from 1973 until 1987. Over the years, he coached hundreds of young men in Dixie Youth, Babe Ruth and American Legion. He also served the blind of our community through the Northside and Jackson Lions Clubs from 1971 until 1992 enjoying the numerous fundraisers, clinics and life long friendships with the fellow lions.He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Rebecca Henderson Creasy of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Karen Creasy Fish and husband Jimmy Fish, Jr. of Jackson, TN; a son, Don Creasy and wife Karen of Jackson, TN; a sister, Nellie Creasy Moore of Humboldt, TN and eight grandchildren, Samantha Creasy, Hunter Creasy, Stephen Simpson, Jacob Simpson, Anna Cowan and granddaddies little rabbits, Halei, Rainee and Windie.Pallbearers will be Hunter Creasy, Stephen Simpson, Jacob Simpson, Bruce Replogle, Jimmy Coker and Joe Sheppard.Honorary pallbearers will be Wilson Hix and Elery Briggs.The family would like to say a special ?Thank You? to the staff members of Hospice of West Tennessee, Stacy, Gloria, Melissa, Kelvin and Kim, as well as Tony Campbell and Matthew Lee with Med Care Ambulance Service for their countless hours of loving assistance.The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
