Jerry Lee Arnold

Jerry Lee Arnold, age 80, passed away at home after a long illness. Born on April 25, 1936 in Newbern, TN, he was the son of the late Allen and Rosa Lee Arnold. A 1954 graduate of Huntingdon High School, he elected to serve his country in the US Army. He married the former Alice Camille Crockett in 1960 and lovingly cared for her until her death in 2008. He worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation where he designed roadways until his retirement in 1998. A former elder of 30 years and longtime member of the former East Chester now Campbell Street Church of Christ, he served the Lord faithfully. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of nearly six years, Barbara Arnold of Jackson; two daughters, Julie (Richard) Roland of Germantown, TN and Ramona (Ronnie) Martin of Smyrna TN; four grandsons, Isaac Roland of Germantown, Lee Roland of Slidell, LA, Jared and Ben Martin of Smyrna, TN; step-son Scott (Shannon) Guthrie, MD of Jackson and their children Emma, Grace and Jackson, TN; two sisters, Mary Alice Baker of Huntingdon, TN and Carol Hollingsworth of Camden, TN.
He was preceded in death also by his brother Robert Arnold of Camden.
SERVICES: The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors with a funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Ray Hawk, minister officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers to serve are Herman Williams, Ron Arnett, John Tibbs, Roger Wilbanks, Ralph Johnson, and Dennis Robison. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Buck and Jack Manley.
The family is requesting memorial contributions be directed to the Jackson Christian School Mission Work 832 Country Club Lane, Jackson, TN 38305.
