James "Jim" Mccormick

James Hilliard “Jim” McCormick, age 75, died Friday, December 17, 2021, at his residence in Jackson, TN surrounded by his loving wife.
He was born December 29, 1945, in Memphis, TN the son of the late Claude Hindman McCormick and Virginia Ruth Murphy McCormick. Jim graduated from Munford High School and the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a Bachelor of Business Administration and his MBA. He was a professor of Economics at Jackson State Community College for over 30 years. During his tenure he was awarded the distinguished Faculty Award.
Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Dixon McCormick, of Jackson, TN; two brothers, William N. (Bill) McCormick of Munford, TN, and John (Anne) McCormick of Cordova, TN; sister, Claudia (Bob) Wilson of Munford, TN; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life service at a later date.
The family has requested that any memorial donations be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 or online at st.jude.org.
