James "Cotton" Maxwell

JAMES “COTTON” MAXWELL
James “Cotton” Maxwell, age 88, died Monday February 13, 2017 at Jackson Madison County Hospital. He was born in Bells, TN to the late parents of William and Gypsy Williams Maxwell in Crockett County. He was retired as a master carpenter and loved to build and create things and work with wood. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a NRA Lifetime Member and member of the carpenters union.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lucinda (Everett) Hunley of Jackson, TN, and Carol (John) Spivey of Murray, KY, two sisters, Danita Wiley and Gypsy Maxwell of Jackson, TN, five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Maxwell, his parents, and seven brothers.

SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery with John Farrar officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Arrington Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers to serve are Chris Maxwell, Barry Maxwell, James Maxwell, Ted Maxwell, Scott Wiley, Max Smith, and Randy Hays.
