Harold L. Skinner, age 80, died on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Regional Hospital of Jackson.
A native of Burnsville, Mississippi, he was born on November 10, 1934 the son of the late Talmadge Lewis and Blanche Marie Jones Skinner. He was a maintenance supervisor for Sonoco Products retiring in 1994. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing in his younger years, as well as, following NASCAR. He was member of North Jackson Baptist Church for ten years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Taylor Skinner of Jackson, TN; three daughters, Rita Growe and husband Johnny of Jackson, TN, Rhonda Wallace and husband William of Medina, TN and Amy Taylor and husband Mitch of Franklin, TN; three grandchildren, Shannon Wallace of Medina, TN and Hudson Taylor and Emery Taylor both of Franklin, TN; two brothers, Ralph Skinner and wife Gail and James Skinner both of Burnsville, MS; three sisters, Betty Ferguson of Atoka, TN, Doris Biggs of Detroit, MI and Lynda Windsor of Southaven, MS.
SERVICE: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 25, 2015 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Robert Dodrill and Dr. Brent Lay officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Growe, William Wallace, Mitch Taylor, Tim Bonds, Charles “Chip” Skinner, Marty Ferguson and Lionel Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Stanfield, Jerry Griggs, Bruce Wildman and Bruce Brooks.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to North Jackson Baptist Church, 3768 Highway 45 Bypass, Jackson, TN 38305.
