Gertrude Stephens Phillips

Gertrude Stephens Phillips, age 91, died on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Johnson County, North Carolina, she was born on September 2, 1926, the daughter of the late Roy Keller and Dolly Ward Stephens. She was married to James William Phillips who preceded her in death in 1994. She was a retired Registered Nurse who enjoyed reading and collecting depression era glassware and plates. She was a member of Poplar Height Baptist Church of Jackson.
She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Stephanie Layman of Jackson, TN, Charlotte Barrett of Schertz, TX, Suzie Phillips of Jackson and Nancy Pence of Lakeland, TN; her sister, Joyce Elaine Reinke of Bells, TN; six grandchildren, Kelsey Keoppel, Mason Wilson, Jamie Barrett, Kelly Dalrymple, Hannah Owens and Tyler Pence and five great grandchildren, Maggie Wilson Keller Wilson, Macie Wilson, Morgan Wilson and Hadassah Dalrymple.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. Terry Hunley officiating. Burial will follow in the Gadsden Methodist Church Cemetery in Gadsden, TN.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Mason Wilson, Tyler Pence, Jared Owens, Cory Keoppel, Jeff Reinke and Greg Reinke.
The family is requesting that Memorial donations be directed to the Gadsden United Methodist Church Cemetery Association, PO Box 145 Gadsden, TN 38337.
