Gay Evans Brown

Mrs. Brown died on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Portsmouth, VA, she was born on August 11, 1934, the daughter of the late Howard Taft and Martha Nell Lewis Evans. She was married to Robert Walter Brown, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. She was an artist, who enjoyed painting and drawing. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening and listening to religious music.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher Bay Brown and wife Debbie of Arlington, TX, Steven Taylor Brown and wife Linda of Jackson, TN, Michael David Brown and wife Diana of Smyrna, TN, Geoffrey Lyle Brown and wife Fern of Matthews, NC, Phillip Edward Brown and wife Sara of Dalton, GA and Jonathan Walter Brown of Jackson, TN; her brother, Ed Evans and wife Shirley of Clarksville, TN; fourteen grandchildren, Daniel Brown, Martha Brown Barlow, Josh Brown, Amy Moore, Emily Brown, Lindsay Smith, Whitney Brown, Sean Brown, Eli Brown, Nikki McKinnis, Robert Wilkins, Jennifer Burgess, Rachel Wilkins and Peter Wilkins and thirteen great grandchildren.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to the Madison Haywood Developmental Center, 38 Garland Road, Jackson, TN 38305.
Memorial services for Gay Evans Brown, 78, will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the sanctuary of Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Maurice Hays officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM at Woodland Baptist Church.
