Freida K. Greenway entered her heavenly home on Friday, July 22, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice of West Tennessee at the age of 70.
She was born in Jackson, TN on August 19, 1951, the daughter of the late Robert Eugene and Ida Lucille Bryant Honen. Freida was a very strong-willed woman in all aspects of her life that was outwardly demonstrated through her extended battle with breast cancer.
She retired from Regions Bank where she served as a bank supervisor for many years. She enjoyed caring for her yard, working word search puzzles, and playing pool. She cherished her family and the many trips they spent at the beach in Biloxi, MS. Her passions were her grandchildren and her love for the many pets that she cared for over the years. Freida attended Beech Bluff Pentecostal Church.
Freida is survived by her loving husband of twenty-nine years, Randy Greenway of Pinson, TN; daughters, Angel Tucker of Pinson, TN and Stephanie Mair and husband Branden of Grand Prairie, TX; sons, Shane Tucker and wife Carla of Memphis, TN and David Greenway and wife Melanie of Jackson, TN; her sister, Patricia Ridley and husband Barry of Jackson, TN; brother, Michael W. Honen of South Korea; a special friend whom she considered a sister, Brenda Dudley and husband Jerry of Henderson, TN; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Honen.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. Curtis Howard of Beech Bluff Pentecostal officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers to serve will be Branden Mair, David Greenway, Joey Harris, Chad Honen, Damon Honen, and Nick Bevis.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that contributions be directed to the Kirkland Cancer Center, (KKC Patient Needs), 74 Directors Row, Jackson, TN 38305 or online at www.wth.org/location/kirkland-cancer-center .
