Frank Eugene "Gene" Martindale

Frank Eugene “Gene” Martindale, 76, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Madison County, TN he was born on June 30, 1937, the son of the late Frank T. and Otera Aday Martindale. Gene was employed with the Jackson Sun for over forty years as a photographer, as well as the composing department. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church for forty-two years, where he was a member of the Ron Hill Sunday school class. He along with his wife were also members of the “Funny Few” couples group at Englewood for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling to Southern Gospel Concerts with his wife. He enjoyed all sports especially watching his children growing up. He adored his wife and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma Durham Martindale; two sons, Curt Martindale and wife Sandy and Ricky Martindale and wife Whitney all of Jackson, TN; four grandchildren, Lindsay Hart and husband Kevin of Anderson, SC and Sailor Martindale, Willow Martindale and Jericho Martindale of Jackson, TN and two great grandchildren, Jake Hart and Ali Hart of Anderson SC.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, April 17, 2014 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Dr. Philip Jett and Dr. Brent Lay officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service.
Memorials can be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Foundation.
