Frances Thomas Blankenship

Frances Thomas Blankenship, 89, died on Saturday evening at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Frances was born in Beech Bluff, TN on May 9, 1924, the daughter of the late Clyde and Lillie Russell Thomas. She was married to W.F. Blankenship who preceded her in death in 1997. As a child and young adult she was a member of the Maple Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church, moving her membership to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church after her marriage to Mr. Blankenship.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Blankenship and wife Athanasia of Tampa, FL; her daughter, Wanda Blankenship Cowan and husband James of Franklin, TN; a sister, Laverne Blankenship of Jackson, TN; four grandchildren, Thomas E. Blankenship, Alexander Blankenship, Lee Cowan and Emily Cowan and three great grandchildren, Vanessa, Sofia and Matthew Blankenship.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Thomas.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. Terry M. Hunley officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Bluff Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Thomas E. Blankenship, James Cowan, Lee Cowan, Jackie Blankenship, Alexander Blankenship and Thomas L. Blankenship.
Memorials are to be directed to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1730 Highway 45 Bypass, Jackson, TN 38305 or to the Beech Bluff Cemetery Association.
