Elizabeth Ann Kirby

Ann Kirby, age 95, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Humboldt, TN the daughter of the late Edgar Charles and Anna Woodard Barnett. She was married to James F. Kirby who preceded her in death on February 12, 2007. She and her husband owned and operated Kirby Builders for many years. Ann was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she participated in United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Emmaus Community and volunteered with the March of Dimes. She was known for her baking skills especially her Hummingbird cake.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathy Tritt of Jackson, TN; four grandchildren, Blair Hunsucker, Alison Lane (Harry) and Lindsey Tritt, all of Jackson, TN and Kirby Tritt of Nashville, TN; four great grandchildren, Rowan Bryant, Ayden Graves, Madelyn Barnett and Harper Lane; and her beloved fur baby, Charley.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Kirby, a grandson, Jonathan Tritt, and a grandson-in-law, Jeff Hunsucker.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 11, 2021, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Dr. Barry Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors and on Monday from 12;00 until the service at the church.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1050 N. Parkway, Jackson, TN 38305.
