Dwight Herman Morisch

October 20, 1936 — November 5, 2020

Dwight H. Morisch age 84, died Thursday, November 5, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born in Albion, NE the son of Willis and Irma Clason Morisch. He was retired as a diesel mechanic and loved fishing, reading, working crossword puzzles, and especially watching his favorite game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Dwight was a life long member of Oakfield Baptist Church and serving as a deacon for 55 years.

Mr. Morisch was ordained on February 14, 1965 at Oakfield Baptist Church and was chosen as a person of “of good report, full of the Spirit and of wisdom,” and capable of serving the congregation. Dwight was a great Father as well as a Dad, known as a good man leads a life of Integrity, a good name is to be had rather than riches, and thank you for setting a good example of a life well lived.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Joy Morisch of Jackson, TN; one son, David (Cindy) Morisch of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Connie Geary of Jackson, TN and Melody (Charles) Tims of Brownsville, TN; one sister, Sherry Steinberg of Fairbanks, AK; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Morisch was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Glenda Tucker Morisch, two sons, Herman Edward Morisch and Dwight Eben Morisch; and two sisters, Jacquita Dover and Linda McCarver.

Pallbearers to serve are the active deacons of Oakfield Baptist Church and honorary pallbearers are the past deacons of the church.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Oakfield Baptist Church, 3527 Old Medina Road, Oakfield, TN 38362.

SERVICES: The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Oakfield Baptist Church with a funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Mickey Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.
