Dorothy Jean “Dot” Wilson, 83, died on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at her Jackson residence.
A native of Jackson, TN Dot was born on March 31, 1930 the daughter of the late Frank and Maudie Utley Rainey. She was a life long member of West Jackson Baptist Church of Jackson, TN, where she was active in the WMU, the Mary Martha Cooking Group and the Norma Futrell Sunday school class. She was very active with the youth department when her children were young. Dot spent most of her time as a homemaker caring for her family and their needs as well as working occasionally for her father at Rainey Furniture Company. Her life was a great example for everyone she touched.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years Ted David Wilson of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Paula Wilson Simpson (Robert) of Jackson, TN; a son, Dr. Donald A. Wilson (Elizabeth) of Jackson, TN; and six grandchildren, Anna Katherine Seabrook (Dr. Todd), Robert Louis “Rob” Simpson, Jr., Benjamin David “Ben” Wilson (Juliana), Wilson Tyler Simpson (Morgan), John Coker Simpson and Andrew Thomas Wilson.
She was preceded in death by a son David Glenn Wilson.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Ron Hale officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February, 18, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Curtiss E. Scott Sunday school class of West Jackson Baptist Church.
