Dorothy Jean Dugger-Belch

April 23, 2022

Dorothy Jean Dugger-Belch, known by many as “Dot,” peacefully transitioned from this life to her Heavenly home on Saturday, April 23, 2022. She was born the daughter of the late Diamond and Ola (Stayton) Watlington in Jackson, TN. Other than her parents, Dot was preceded in death by husbands, Jack C. Dugger and Robert E. Belch, and her beloved Shih Tzus, Molly and Murphy, who recently passed away. Dot married the love of her life, Jack C. Dugger and together they shared a beautiful life and a treasured daughter, Cyndi. After Jack’s death, Dot met and fell in love with Robert E. Welch and blended their families, as Robert had two daughters, Kim and Pam. She enjoyed time spent with her family and made every attempt to make sure each of them knew how much they were loved. After high school, Dot attended business school and spent many years as a bookkeeper for Jackson Utility Division. Dot was a very kind and generous person, who was very strong spirited. She was sure in her every step and her decisions were made with strong conviction. She is remembered for her welcoming nature of always making others feel loved and included. Dot was always planning something fun and adventurous because she loved to travel. She especially loved touring in the family motorhome. One of her greatest loves was dancing. She became a very poignant ballroom dancer with her husband, Jack and she and husband Robert gave country western dancing a whirl. As adventurous as she was, Dot enjoyed riding the lawn mower and working in her flower beds for which she took great pride. Dot loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Englewood Baptist Church, where she enjoyed fellowship and especially her time spent in Jim Strait’s Sunday school class. She attended without fail until her health dictated otherwise. She is loved and will be tremendously missed by daughter, Cyndi Finucane and husband, Mike of Franklin, TN; stepdaughters, Kim Moore of Henderson, TN, and Pam Coyne and husband, Sean of North Pole, Alaska; grandson, Jack Finucane of Boston, MA; step-grandsons, Mason Moore, Carson Coyne and Dustin Gyne, as well as many other friends and neighbors who mourn her passing. Private Services will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions be sent to Halfway Home Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 236, Greenfield, TN 38230 or http://www.hwhanimalrescue.com/donate. Online condolences can be made at https://www.arringtonfuneralgroup.com. Arrington Funeral Directors, 148 W.
