Dolores Nellie Miller was born on September 13, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. She died in Memphis, TN on January 12, 2017. Dolores’ parents were Henry Mack Schwartz and Gertrude Steinbacher Schwartz. Dolores (Dee) married her high school sweetheart, Thomas (Tom) Paul Miller Sr., and they were married for 64 years. Dee and Tom moved to Jackson, TN in 1964 and together they raised 10 children.

Dolores was an only child. She loved children and enjoyed her grandchildren. She was an avid and incredible cook, retired realtor, bridge player, and loved the theatre. Dolores was active in the Dyslexia Foundation and volunteered countless hours to bring awareness and change in educating our children in Jackson. She loved her church groups at St. Mary’s and the fellowship they provided each other. Dolores was adventurous, quick witted, and always could make you laugh. Dolores loved to paint and was very talented artistically. She will be remembered for her sense of style, especially how she loved to wear hats, her love of big cities and travel, but most importantly her love for her church and children.

Dolores was fondly known as “Momma Dee” and was greatly loved by her children and grandchildren. Dolores is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Paul Miller, Sr. and two sons: Mathew Joseph Miller and Thomas Paul Miller, Jr.
