Dera Ashby

Dera Ann Thomas Ashby Dera Ann Thomas Ashby, widow of the late Robert Ashby, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday November 9, 2009 with friends at her bedside. She was born September 20, 1939 the daughter of the late Johnnie Holland Thomas and Bill Thomas. She was born in Memphis, TN and later moved to Oak Ridge, TN and was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School and Union University Nursing School. She was an RN and an educator in the Nursing Dept. at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. Dera loved her cats and gave a loving home to many. She will be loved and missed by all her friends and caregivers. She was a member of St. Luke?s Episcopal Church. She is survived by a cousin Bobby Thomas of Bossier, LA., an Aunt Carolyn Yancey of Collierville, TN and Charlie Yancey of Collierville, TN. Visitation will be held Wednesday November 11, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Arrington Funeral Directors. Graveside services will be held Friday in Oak Ridge, TN.
