Danny Ray Hurst, Jr., age 50, died on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital from complications of COVID-19.
A native of Selmer, TN, he was born on May 1, 1971, the son of Danny Ray Hurst, Sr. and Angie Hendrix Hurst. Danny was an active member of Fellowship Bible Church, participating in their Men’s Groups. He was all about sports, including the Kansas University Jayhawks basketball, Vols football, his 4 X 4 Club and anything related to his boy’s activities. He was also an avid Star Wars fan.
Danny is survived by his wife, Debra Glover Hurst of Jackson, TN; their three sons, Cannon Lee Hurst, Brennan Lucas Hurst, and Avery Liam Hurst all of Jackson, TN; his mother, Angie Hendrix Pearson of Selmer, TN; his father, Danny R. Hurst, Sr. and his wife Kathy of Selmer, TN; and his brother, Jeremy Hurst and his wife Bridget of Selmer, TN; and his beloved niece and nephew, Abigail and Hunter.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Fellowship Bible Church in Jackson, TN with Rev. Eugene Brandt officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Wednesday at Fellowship Bible Church prior to the service.
Pallbearers serving will be Jeremy Hurst, Ryan Porter, Lance Porter, Roger Weiss, Keith McIntyre, Jonathan Washburn, Shea Wigginton and Brian Marshall.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Fellowship Bible Church, 141 Pleasant Plains Road, Jackson, TN 38305.
