Rev. Britton Lee "B.L." Willis

Reverend Britton Lee “B.L.” Willis, 90, died on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the West Tennessee Veterans Home in Humboldt.
He was born on August 20, 1923 in Carthage, TN, the son of the late Lee and Roena Willis. He served in the United States Army as a Technical Staff Sergeant from 1943-1946. He married Jesse Lois Willis on April 20, 1946 and was a graduate of the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He had the opportunity to serve as pastor to the following churches during his ministry: White Bluff Baptist Church in White Bluff, TN; Linden First Baptist Church in Linden, TN; Latham’s Chapel Baptist Church in Medina, TN; North Edgefield Baptist Church in Nashville, TN; Broadmoor Baptist Church in Nashville, TN and Hopewell Baptist Church in Cedar Grove, TN.
Rev. Willis is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Jesse Lois Willis of Humboldt, TN; his son Larry Lee Willis and wife Betty Ann of Medina, TN and his daughter, Sheila Willis McFadden and husband Dr. Greg McFadden of Humboldt, TN; grandchildren, Miki Martin (Randy), Philip Willis (Casey), Kevin Willis, Melissa Willis, Jonathan Willis, Ryan McFadden, Joseph McFadden and Lily McFadden and two great grandchildren, Coleman Willis and Myles Clifton, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents and a sister, Pauline Ligon.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Humboldt with Dr. Greg McFadden officiating. A visitation with the family will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors and on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 1:00 PM until the service time.
The members of the Barthel Gray Men’s Sunday school class are asked to sit together at the church service.
