Billy G. Moore, age 80, died on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital of Bartlett, TN.
He was born in Jackson, Tennessee on September 29, 1940, the son of the late Harry and Frances Sharp Moore. He was self-employed for fifty-two years in construction and land development. He was a volunteer and board member from 2013 thru 2020 for the nonprofit organization ARK Farms, a 54-acre parcel of land, that brings in disenfranchised youth and empowers them through working with rescue animals. This organization provides both emotional support and marketable skills the youth will use later in life.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Moore of Bartlett, TN; three daughters, Pam Moore German and husband Mike of Jackson, TN; Daly Moore Schmidt and husband Jason of Collierville, TN and Robin Moore Colvin and husband Anthony of South Carolina; a son, Jeremy Moore of Chattanooga, TN; a step-son, Richard Shepherd and wife Vanessa of Whiteville, TN; three brothers James Howard Moore and wife Sue of Jackson,, TN, John Moore and wife Jewel of Pontotoc, MS and Harry Moore, Jr of Inverness, FL; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sons Terry and Robert Moore and a daughter, Lisa Moore.
SERVICES: A funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 13, 2020 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Chuck Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 PM until service time on Friday, November 13, 2020.
Pallbearers will be Harry Moore, John Moore, Robby Watson, Jeremy Moore, Jason Schmidt and Justin Moore.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that contributions be directed to ARK Farms, 5231 Covington Pike, Arlington, TN 38002.
