Bennie Harold Weaver Sr.
June 23, 1940 — August 9, 2022
Bennie H. Weaver, Sr. entered his heavenly home on August 9, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends, at the age of 82.
Born in Munford, TN on June 23, 1940, he was the son of the late Johnny and Leona Gage Weaver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Terrie Lynn Weaver in May 2015. Bennie had a varied working career starting with Browns Shoe Company in Selmer, TN, where he worked for fifteen years, then at Olean Tile for twenty-seven years. He established Weaver’s Small Engine that he owned and operated for thirty-five years.
His church and its ministries were very important to Bennie, as he was a faithful member of First UPC of Brownsville, TN for over thirty-five years. He was very active in their visitation ministry and always in attendance for services on Sunday and Wednesday.
In Bennie’s younger years, he enjoyed dove hunting and fishing. He participated in senior league softball for many years, where he was quite the player. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loved anything involving the grandchildren.
Bennie is survived by his wife, Dorcas Weaver; children, Stevie Weaver and wife Terri, Jeff Weaver and wife Debby, Pamela Goodman and husband Donnie, Jackie Weaver and wife Brenda, Donna Liggett, Martie Weaver and wife Kristy, Katrina Pope and husband Christopher, Bennie Weaver, Jr. and wife Kasi, and Michael Weaver and wife Jasmine; his siblings, Herschel Weaver, Eve LaTino Weaver, Charlotte Platt Weaver and Burlin Weaver; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Delbert Weaver and Lynn Arnold; grandchild, Shane Liggett, and great-grandchild, Jack Ryan Weaver.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Pastor Herschel Weaver, Pastor Travis Grimsley and Pastor Curtis Howard officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors and Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers to serve will be Brandon Weaver, Kurtis Blake Weaver, Carson Weaver, Andrew Pope, Scott Liggett, Steven Liggett, Kyle Lively, and Kaleb Liggett.
