Barbara Hookway entered this life September 22, 1970 and departed this life to sing praises to Jesus forever on October 8, 2012. She had made Jackson her home since 1981 and lived with her mother Nancy Mutch. She is also survived by her father, Robert Hookway (Barbara) of Marshall, MI; brother, Rob Hookway of Jackson, TN; uncle, Allen Mutch (Lynn) of Lacey, WA; aunt, Mary Casey (Jim) of Colorado Springs, CO along with many cousins and countless friends. Many in this community were touched by Barb’s joyful and loving ways because she never met a stranger. She expressed her heart of love toward babies and elderly people through kind words and deeds. She was a natural-born comedian and her unique perspective on life brought smiles to family and friends. She helped her mom each day with her catering and lunch delivery business. Previously she had worked at McDonalds for two years and Ryan’s Restaurant for seven years. She volunteered at Northside Daycare for over ten years. She was a member a special needs Girl Scout Troop, achieving 4th place in Western Tennessee for cookie sales. She also attended the Star Center. She was a member of Love and Truth Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Love and Truth Church. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the church.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Love and Truth Church, 565 Oil Well Road, Jackson, TN 38305.
