Sarah Darling Williamson

Sarah Darling Williamson, 90, died Saturday, March 01, 2014 at her residence.
Sarah was born in Huntingdon, TN on February 22, 1924, the daughter of the late Otis W. Darling and Erie Wooton Patterson. She moved to Jackson at an early age and was educated in the Jackson public schools. She was a graduate of Union University, where she was a member of Chi Omega. She married Dr. Earl Williamson, Jr. on August 9, 1949. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1991. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, where she served as Secretary-Treasure of the UMW for thirty years.
She is survived by her son, Dr. F.E. “Bo” Williamson III and his wife Virginia Parks Williamson of Jackson, TN; three grandchildren, Edward Parks Williamson, Sarah “Sallie” Spence Williamson and Andrew Hamilton Williamson; a sister, Patricia P. Cole of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Roy Patterson of Germantown, TN and Bailey Patterson of Jackson, TN.
She was preceded in death by a sister, June D. Rowland.
The family would like to thank Terry Tate, Pauline Hoyle, Jennifer Yarbrough and Emma Belser for their loving care.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Dan Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorials are to be directed to First Baptist Church, 1627 N. Highland Ave. Jackson, TN 38301; Union University, 1050 Union University Drive, Jackson, TN 38305 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
