Ken Wilbanks, 67, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Ken was born in Essary Springs, MS on August 24, 1946, the son of the late Buford and Mary Louise Simpson Wilbanks. He was a graduate of Mississippi State and was employed with the Jackson office of the Social Security Administration for thirty-five years retiring as the Assistant District Manager. He was a member the Browns Ruritan having twenty-six years of perfect attendance and the Jackson Exchange Club. He was a member of Browns United Methodist Church where he sang in the adult choir. He was an avid collector of tractors and enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Terri Wilbanks of Jackson, TN; a son, Bryan Hamer of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Christie Jacobson of Naples, FL and Kelli Roberson (John) of Jackson, TN; six grandchildren that he adored, Dylan Hamer, Chandler Roberson, Grayson Roberson , Ella Kate Roberson all of Jackson, TN and Kylie Jacobson and Lexi Jacobson of Naples, FL; a brother, Roger Wilbanks (Glenda) of Jackson, TN and two sisters, Betty Noles of Bolivar and Frances Melton (Robert) of Walnut, MS.
He was preceded by a brother, Billy Wilbanks in 2005.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Browns United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Browns Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Browns UMC.
The family is requesting memorial contributions be directed to the Browns UMC 181 McCleary Road, Jackson, TN 38305.
