James Glenn Jernigan

March 11, 1962 — April 7, 2017

James Glenn Jernigan, age 55, died on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the St. Francis Hospital of Bartlett, TN.
A native of Jackson, TN, Glenn was born on March 11, 1962 the son of Nancy Powell Jernigan and the late Lee Edward Jernigan. He was a graduate of JCM High School, where he excelled in Football and basketball. He was an avid University of Tennessee Football fan, traveling to many of their bowl games and national championship game. He enjoyed bass fishing and being a member of various bass clubs. Traveling was a passion for he and his wife especially the area of Cades Cove in the East Tennessee mountains. Up until his health declined he was a regular participant at a local gym working out several days weekly. He was employed as a service technician with Golden Circle Ford for eighteen years and Chuck Graves Chevrolet for six years.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, LaNonda Jernigan; two sons, James Glenn Jernigan II and Zackery Dylan Jernigan all of Jackson, TN; his mother, Nancy E. Jernigan of Jackson, TN; three sisters, Nancylea Jernigan of Jackson, TN, Janet Cupples of Oakfield, TN and Donna (Vernon) Costello of Waverly, TN; a sister-in-law, Fran (Bedford) Sorrell of Memphis, TN; two brother-in-laws, Allen (Anita) Woods of Savannah, Greg (Karen) Woods of Lexington, TN and Father-in-law, Travis Woods of Three-Way, TN and six nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Edward Jernigan and two brothers Lee Edward Jernigan, Jr and Leonard Elmer Jernigan.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, April 10, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
