Gloria G. Dixon

Gloria G. Dixon, age 76, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Gloria was born in Memphis, TN on January 21, 1941, the daughter of the late John Gordon Holland and Rebecca Barton Coughlin. She was a faithful member of Northside United Methodist Church for over twenty years, where she participated in numerous activities. She was a member of the “Emmaus Girls” with whom she enjoyed traveling and spending time with. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, as she had quilted Christmas quilts for each of the grandchildren. She was a lover of all animals and was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Dixon of Jackson; two sons, Chip Dixon and wife Judith and Russ Dixon and wife Lori all of Jackson; a daughter, Jen Palmer and husband Frank of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Ross Palmer and wife Kristen, Jordan Palmer, Molly Dixon, Jacob Dixon, Becky Dixon, Matthew Dixon, Kyle Dixon and Will Dixon and a special niece, Amy Gideon of Nashville.
She was preceded in death by a sister Wanda Gideon.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Northside United Methodist Church with Dr. Don Thrasher officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday at Northside United Methodist prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM
Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Northside United Methodist Church, 2571 N. Highland Ave. Jackson, TN 38305.
